01 — Data we collect
Account info. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. That's it — no contacts, no calendar, no Drive.
The things you save. Whatever you add to your Want list: product name, URL, image, price, size, color, and any notes you write.
Usage data. Basic analytics about how the app is used (pages viewed, features used) so we can make Want better.
02 — How we use it
- Display and sync your Want list across your devices.
- Generate a shareable list URL you can send to anyone.
- Process affiliate link clicks so we can track commissions and keep Want free.
03 — Where it's stored
Your data is stored securely in our backend (powered by Supabase). We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except as required to operate the service — namely Supabase (hosting and database) and Google (OAuth sign-in).
04 — Affiliate links
Want participates in affiliate programs including Amazon Associates and others. When you or a giver clicks through from your list to a retailer, we may earn a commission on a purchase. No personal data about you is shared with retailers — they only see the standard click referral.
05 — The Chrome extension
The Want Chrome extension reads the content of a product page only when you actively click the Want button in the toolbar. It does not track your browsing history, and it does not collect data from pages you visit without interaction.
06 — Your choices
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from the account settings dropdown in the top-right of the app — no need to email us. You can also request a copy of the data we hold about you.
